Maybe You Should Move To Idaho Too?

February 1, 2017

There are many reasons why people move to Idaho!

People move to Idaho for the quality of life, less crime, moderate four-season climate, affordable housing, low cost of living, less traffic, friendly people, and many other reasons.

In fact, Idaho ranked #2 for “high inbound” in-migration in 2016, according to the latest United Van Lines annual survey.

The Western U.S. dominated the list of states with the following percentages of “high inbound” moves:

  • Oregon: 67%
  • Idaho: 65%
  • Washington: 58%
  • Nevada: 58%
  • Arizona: 57%

The survey also revealed that retirees comprised one in four Mountain West inbound moves.

The 2016 survey data results were heavily influenced by retirees’ relocation decisions, resulting in new retirement hubs in the western states.

hmmm . . . . almost sounds like they’re describing Boise, Meridian, and Eagle!

Across all regions surveyed, about 20% of all moves were motivated by a desire to be closer to their family.

62% of all Pacific West moves occurred as a result of employment changes.

The top “outbound move” states included New Jersey, Illinois, New York, Connecticut, Kansas, Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Utah, and Pennsylvania.

In case you’re wondering; California was balanced, with inbound moves nearly equal to outbound moves.

Idaho Named Top 10 Destination

Idaho Named Top 10 Destination

Vogue Magazine has included Idaho in its annual “10 Hottest Travel Destinations of 2017”!

Interestingly, the other nine destinations are all exotic, far away countries around the world.

The competition included Georgia (the country), Oman, Malaysia, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Jordan, Denmark, and Colombia.

How cool is that ????

Idaho Is Third Fastest Growing State In U.S.

January 19, 2017

A recent survey says Idaho is Third Fastest Growing State In U.S.

Idaho’s population grew by 1.8% between mid-2015 and mid-2016.

Idaho’s population increased to 1,683,140 as of July 1, 2016, after attracting 30,300 new residents in the prior 12 months.

The Idaho Department of Labor stated the population increase to in-migration from other states and a high birth rate.

19,000 of the 30,300 new residents moved to Idaho from other states.

Contrary to popular belief, not all 19,000 of our new residents were from California!  🙄

We Idahoans, for whatever reason, have the 7th highest birth rate in the nation.

Utah was ranked as the fastest-growing state in the nation, followed by:

  • Nevada
  • Idaho
  • Florida
  • Washington
  • Oregon
  • Colorado
  • Arizona
  • Washington D.C.
  • Texas

States losing population during the same period included:

  • Mississippi
  • Wyoming
  • Vermont
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Connecticut
  • West Virginia
  • Illinois

Idaho Unemployment Rate Remains Low

January 17, 2017

More good news about the Idaho unemployment rate!
