Our recent election was inconclusive, and tomorrow is the day of our runoff election.
The two candidates symbolize the polarization of our community.
Will we have a no-growth mayor or will have a managed-growth mayor?
Those of you who are regular readers know that I am experienced, seasoned, and have seen much during my 35 years of real estate.
I am NOT a real estate cheerleader, and I am definitely not a proponent of growth at all costs.
I too, wish Eagle could be just like it was when I arrived in September 2000.
The last thing I want to see is 20,000 more homes in the Eagle foothills!
But, all desirable areas experience growth and you cannot stop it.
The best you can do is manage it and make sure it is done correctly with balance and common-sense (is there such a thing anymore?) planning.
I have been encouraged to endorse both candidates in one fashion or another and I don’t think that is the proper role of this blog.
I will not do so for the same reasons I have often declined offers of paid advertising on my blogs.
I simply suggest that the voters of Eagle carefully review both candidates’ views, experience, and promises and make an educated decision on the future of Eagle.
