Why Home Inspections Are Prepaid

Most home inspectors require advance payment before inspecting a home.

Buyers sometimes ask why they must prepay for their home inspection.

The reason is actually pretty simple.

It’s because some buyers don’t like the results of their home inspection and balk at paying for the inspection after it has been done.

Some inspectors will accept a personal check; others make it simple by taking a credit card over the phone.

Few inspectors will wait until closing for payment because some transactions fail to close due to major inspection issues.
