The Death of Stainless Steel

In the beginning, there was white.

Then, along came turquoise, harvest gold, coppertone, avocado, and almond.

Then, the ever-popular black.

Finally, stainless steel became “the look”.

Now, Whirlpool would like to convince us that stainless steel is no longer cool.

Yep, you guessed it ~ “White Ice” is the new stainless steel.

This past Monday, Whirlpool introduced its new White Ice finish in its premium appliance line.

If Apple made appliances, this is what they would look like!

hmmmm . . . . maybe this will also be the end of fingerprints on the fridge?

Their black ice is kinda cool lookin’ too. Having kids at home, I’m all for the lack of finger prints.

Haven’t seen their “black ice” version yet.

Problem in America is that we allow MEN to design our appliances… houses… kitchens… bathrooms… uh huh.

    We need more female designers.

And the white ice looks fantastic in my Blue kitchen… designed by me. Built by my husband. White ice and knotty pine. Pergo floors in the palest birch.
