Idaho Backroads: Sweet, Idaho
Sweet, Idaho is located on the Ola Highway (not really a highway!) a few miles north of Hwy 52 between Horseshoe Bend and Emmett.
Settled in 1876 by Andrew McQuade, the town was later named after its postmaster, Ezekiel Sweet.
The community prospered in the early 1900s by providing food and supplies to nearby miners and loggers.
Major fires destroyed most of the town in the 1920s and today it is a quiet farming/ranching community.
