Here Kitty, Kitty!

Five mountain lion sightings have been reported near the Boise River Greenbelt in the past week or so.

The locations have ranged from near the Hilton Garden Inn in Eagle to Surprise Valley in SE Boise.

Authorities reportedly missed an opportunity to confront the cat Tuesday after it was spotted sitting at the bar in the Eagle Bardenay, drinking a beer :)

The most recent sighting occurred near the Warm Springs golf course Wednesday when a family reported seeing a mountain lion chasing a deer.

This is either one very well-traveled cat, or possibly more than one, given the distance between the reported sightings.

This is probably not going to end well for the cat(s),  as it is usually standard practice to kill mountain lions when they become comfortable being around populated areas.

While mountain lion vs. human conflict is rare, it’s a good idea to be careful and keep a close watch on pets and small children.
