Spirit of Boise Balloon Festival – Saturday Edition
Another early morning today as I again helped crew the RE/MAX Balloon at the 2012 Spirit of Boise Balloon Festival.
Today was a totally different experience compared to Thursday.
Thursday was media day and the attendance was slim, but Ann Morrison Park was teeming with thousands of excited spectators as we prepared to launch around 8:00 this morning.
Many of those spectators were eager to help and volunteered to help crew the balloons, making our morning much easier than Thursday when just a few of us unpacked, launched, chased, and recovered the balloon.
Today’s flight took the balloon at treetop level over Hyde Park and ended with a successful, intricate, very precise landing between trees and power lines in Veterans Memorial Park.
Tonight is the Night Glow event, featuring various balloons (including ours) simultaneously lighting their burners while tethered.
I will be there in the RE/MAX West VIP section, sporting my crew shirt!
Here are a few shots of today’s flight.

Hoping I get to go up tomorrow!
And, hoping I can figure out how to shoot illuminated balloons in the dark tonight
