Construction Begins On “The Hole”
Construction has begun on the new 18-story Zions Bank Idaho headquarters at Eighth and Main Streets in downtown Boise.
The site gained the moniker of “The Hole” after 15 years of failed attempts by other developers to build an office building on the site.
The shell of the building is valued at $45 million and tenant improvements to the interior of the building are projected to cost another $15 million.
The building will be the tallest building in Idaho when finished and is already more than 50% pre-leased.
According to general contractor ESI Construction, the new project will create as many as 400 jobs.
