The End Of The World Is Near

Am I the only one who’s sick and tired of all the negative news?
Watch CNN (“Constantly Negative News”) and you would think the world is about to come to an end within the next two days.
The news media incessantly blabs on and on about the “national real estate market”.
There is no national real estate market; all real estate is local.
The news media delights in reporting that foreclosures have doubled in the past five minutes when, in fact, the actual percentage of foreclosures in the U.S. is 1.8% and 33% of all owner-occupied homes don’t even have a mortgage!
Why does everything these days have to become a media event?
Does anyone really care that Miss Indiana is our latest Miss America?
Or, that an alligator ate a poodle in Florida?
Is that really news?
( well . . . mebbe if you were the poodle ???)
The news is little more than clutter on our respective radars.
It’s background noise that distracts us from our daily lives and personal challenges.
Listening to the constant drumbeat of negativity gets in the way of living our own rich, full lives.
For me, the answer is to set goals and work toward them.
It’s amazingly easy to stay positive when you are busy making progress toward a planned, visualized destination!
When I’m focused on improving myself and finding solutions for my clients, I don’t have time to pay attention to all of the negativity in the news.
