Why I'm Like Tiger Woods
Ever noticed how many professionals like Tiger Woods have personal coaches?
Despite his golfing prowess, Tiger has his own personal coach to remind him of the fundamentals, his goals, and hold him accountable for personal improvement.
After nearly 36 years in real estate, I realized late last year that I had become complacent and was drifting.
Phil’s BIG Realization #1: Fish position themselves in streams with their mouths facing upstream so nutrients will drift downstream – into their mouths.
Phil’s BIG Realization #2: It’s easy to go hungry if you’re drifting downstream instead of swimming into the current.
So, last December I signed up for personal real estate coaching with Buffini and Company, the world’s leading real estate coaching company.
My personal coach, Melissa (whom I have lovingly labeled as my “paid personal nag”), is now my accountability partner.
She’s my trusted ally who encourages me, suggests fresh ideas, and holds me accountable for staying on track with my goals, dreams, and tasks.
She also cuts me some slack when I’m too hard on myself.
Since Melissa doesn’t come cheap, I listen to her (amazing how that works!).
The Buffini Coaching Program allows me to attend multiple “Turning Point Retreats” each year to gain new ideas and refresh my perspective on real estate and life.
I attended a TPR in Seattle in February, and just returned from one in San Diego a week ago.
Those events also provide incredible networking/referral opportunities with thousands of other real estate professionals from around the country.
Next up is the Buffini Mastermind Conference in late August, where one of the featured speakers will be Paul Potts, the former cell phone salesman who achieved his dream of becoming an opera singer despite incredible odds.
It’s interesting to note that real estate agents in the Buffini program average 6X the sales of all real estate agents.
Coaching is yet another way for me to stay on top of my chosen full-time profession of real estate.
